Social Media is the focus of a lot of attention at the moment, and with good reason. It’s a great way to reach thousands of fans almost immediately.
The same is still true of email!
Unlike many social media channels email allows almost complete control over the way the message is presented.
The Electronic Direct Mail (EDM) shown above was developed to help Essendon reach out to the 90,000+ fans on their email list to announce Dyson Heppell’s Rising Star award. At the same time as acting as an announcement it also included a call to action around a limited edition memorabilia piece celebrating the win.
With the tracking of open rates and conversions it easy to see how important email can be, and with the piece selling out in under 24 hours proof is in the pudding!
