Big Icons make better small Icons

Clipboard detailOne of the first things on my To-Do list after joining IMG Sports Technology Group in 2010 was giving the imgstg.com website a redesign.

The existing site had been designed only two years prior, but it was already dated and didn’t give the professional, cutting edge feel required by this arm of the massive IMG World organisation.

As part of the redesign I created a series of icons to represent the various services offered by IMG STG. Icon development is an art, and the best in the business put us all to shame. However I’m happy with the end result of what was done for the website. Above I’ve shown the icon I created to represent the registration facilities supplied by IMG STG. As you see there’s the small size, the same as appears on the website, and the large size. The large size shows the details better and as with the gauges made for Essendon’s Flight Plan creating a high resolution master than can be scaled down yields better results.
